Christa Faust is probably one of the most successful writers out there currently working in a very pulp-influenced style. Books like Hoodtown and Money Shot are amazing titles that combine classic pulp heroes with modern takes on sexuality, fighting and (in Hoodtown’s case) Mexican wrestling.

Her latest book from hard Case Crime, Choke Hold isn’t just a sequel to Money Shot, but also her look at the modern world of MMA and concussion syndrome. It is completely worth a look for a fan of hard-boiled, pulp or wrestling/MMA.
