Wrestling Wednesday: Girls Night Out & Shimmer preview

Over at the Examiner, I looked at AIW’s first Girls Night Out event of the year, a solid card topped by the champion Mickie Knuckles versus Sara Del Rey.

The stunning... and stunningly talented... Marti Belle

The card was solid, though with only one truly spectacular match, a battle between new REINA star and independent standout Mia Yim against the impressive Marti Belle. The two young beauties worked one another over in the kind of match WWE could really use for its weekly shows. Nothing too long, but still a solid battle between two young talented stars (that could out-wrestle 90% of the older, “more experienced” WWE divas.)

While I look at older, all women shows, Shimmer prepares for an upcoming set of DVD tapings with another stacked roster that unites stars from around the world. Two of those talents are Japan’s Hiroyo Matsumoto and debuting Shimmer talent Ryo Mizunami. Ringbelles recently featured one of their matches from back in 2008 on Youtube.
