Kickstarter: super-RPGs and 80s comic revivals not related to Disney Channel films

While it does not have the best intro video, Invulnerable is a new version of an already solid if lesser known role playing game. The Vigilante Edition will be the final cut of the product with a lot of new material and with a buy in point of only $15 is a very solid release for role playing game publishers. Give it a look.

When Elaine Lee and Michael Wm. Kaluta revived Starstruck a few years ago, it was with promise that new material would be in the works. Now that time has come as Harry Palmer: Starstruck: “Old Proldiers Never Die”. Great writing, amazing art, what more can you ask for in a comic book?

And the book definitely is not a Disney Channel show.

Kickstart the Week: Camp Myth & Nightwing: Escalation

Two unique and very different projects this week.

Camp Myth</I> is an amazing role-playing game designed to bring new gamers and experienced gamers together in one setting. With gorgeous art and a modern fantasy setting, it offers something interesting for any kind of superhero fan.

Nightwing: Escalation is a new fan movie/web series that tells an original Nightwing story. It is a somewhat amateurish project, but with fans clearly in love with the work they are doing. Give it a look.

SuperPowerCast 10: “And Pencil Man!” – Spectrum Games’ Gallery of Evil

This time around I sit down with Cynthia Celeste Miller, Barak Blackburn and Norbert Franz of Spectrum Games as we discuss their upcoming game sourcebook Gallery of Evil, a book filled with unique villains for any Capes Cowls & Villains Foul or Mutants & Masterminds game.

The project is currently on Kickstarter and looks like tons of fun with great… and sometimes strange… villains that any super powered fiction fan can love.

Kickstart the Week: Base Raiders & The Luminous Firefly

Base Raiders is an upcoming Savage Worlds based pen and paper RPG that combines dungeon crawling with super powered action. It is set in a world where the villains and heroes have vanished and the only people that are left are Base Raiders, individuals who enter old lairs and headquarters in the search for new super powers and equipment.

The Luminous Firefly is a new comic project featuring a new young superhero in the vein of Spider-Man or Static. It is all about a young African American teenager in foster care who ends up juggling super powers along with his other day to day tribulations. Head over to the Kickstarter page for plenty of preview art.
